Volunteer Application Form User Conduct

By accessing or using our volunteer application form, you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions set forth below. If you do not agree with all these terms, please refrain from using this form.

User Conduct

The volunteer application form on our website serves as a direct line of communication to Unity and Pride Network. The applications are monitored and reviewed by our team before being shared with the appropriate personnel. When using the volunteer application form, we ask that you adhere to the following guidelines to ensure a respectful and safe environment.

1. Communicate with kindness and respect, understanding that all applications are initially reviewed by our team before being shared, if appropriate.

2. Refrain from submitting applications that contain harmful, offensive, or inappropriate content. This includes, but is not limited to, threats, harassment, explicit language, or discriminatory remarks.

3. Do not use the volunteer application form for unauthorized or promotional purposes. Applications should be relevant to Unity and Pride Network, our work, or related inquiries.

4. Avoid including any malicious content or attachments that could compromise the security of our communications.

5. Respect privacy and confidentiality by not sharing sensitive personal information within your application that you would not want disclosed to others.

6. Violations of these guidelines may lead to the exclusion of your application from being reviewed or responded to. We reserve the right to take appropriate actions, including reporting to authorities if necessary, to protect the well-being of all individuals associated with Unity and Pride Network.

Before submitting your application, please be aware that we adhere to strict standards for respectful communication. United States and Canadian federal laws prohibit hate crimes and cyberbullying. Submitting applications that are threatening, harassing, or discriminatory based on gender identity, or directed towards minors, may be prosecuted under these laws.

Phone Number Requirement: The phone number field is mandatory for security and may be used for law enforcement if necessary.

Automated Systems and Policies:

1. Aggressive Rejection of Marketing and Phishing Scams: Our volunteer application form is equipped with an aggressive rejection system that automatically blocks applications with content indicative of marketing or phishing scams.

2. Automatic Reporting of Threats or Harmful Content: Any applications containing threats or harmful content will be immediately forwarded to law enforcement.

This includes warnings against phishing attempts, financial scams, fraudulent rewards or prizes, and any threats or harmful content as per the guidelines.

This policy also includes, but is not limited to, the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act, which makes it a federal crime to willfully cause bodily injury—or attempt to do so with fire, a firearm, or other dangerous weapon—on the basis of the victim’s actual or perceived gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, or disability.

Please ensure your communication is respectful and considerate. Applications found to be in violation of these laws will be reported to the appropriate authorities and may result in legal action.

Volunteer Application Assessment Process

At Unity and Pride Network, we take great care in assessing each volunteer application to ensure the best fit for both the volunteer and our organization. Our assessment process includes the following steps:

Application Review

Once your application is submitted, it will be reviewed by our volunteer coordination team. We will evaluate your skills, experience, and availability to determine how they align with our current needs.

Interview

Selected applicants will be invited for an interview. This allows us to get to know you better and understand your motivations for volunteering. It also provides you an opportunity to ask questions about the organization and the role you are applying for.

Background Check

For certain roles, especially those involving vulnerable populations, we may require a background check. This ensures the safety and security of all participants in our programs.

Training

Once accepted, all volunteers are required to undergo a training session. This covers the essentials of your role, our organization’s policies, and important guidelines to ensure a positive and effective volunteer experience.

Ongoing Support

Our commitment to our volunteers doesn’t end with training. We provide ongoing support and resources to help you succeed in your role. Regular check-ins and feedback sessions ensure you feel valued and supported.

Evaluation

Periodically, we evaluate our volunteers to provide constructive feedback and recognize outstanding contributions. This helps maintain a high standard of volunteerism and ensures continuous improvement for both the volunteer and the organization.

We value each applicant’s interest in volunteering with Unity and Pride Network and strive to create a meaningful and impactful experience for everyone involved. If you have any questions about the volunteer application process, please do not hesitate to contact us.
