1. Camp Counselors

Responsibilities:

  • • Supervise and support campers, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • • Facilitate and participate in camp activities.
  • • Provide guidance and mentorship to campers.
  • • Create a positive and inclusive environment.

Qualifications:

  • • Certification in Standard or Advanced First Aid with CPR-C.
  • • Experience working with LGBTQIA+ youth.
  • • Recent background check (within the past year).
  • • Additional relevant certifications (e.g., lifeguard certification, if applicable).
  • • Must be trained, registered, and certified for the position.

2. Activities Director

Responsibilities:

  • • Plan, organize, and oversee all camp activities and events.
  • • Ensure a diverse range of activities that cater to the interests and abilities of all campers.
  • • Coordinate with camp counselors to implement daily activity schedules.
  • • Manage activity supplies and equipment.
  • • Develop special programs for transgender and non-binary youth.
  • • Ensure activities are conducted safely and inclusively.

Qualifications:

  • • Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Education, or related field.
  • • Experience in planning and leading recreational activities.
  • • Strong organizational and leadership skills.

  • • Experience in a professional kitchen or similar setting.

4. Nurses and Paramedics

Job Title: Camp Nurse/Paramedic

Location: Camp Unity & Pride, Ontario

Job Type: Full-time (Seasonal)

Responsibilities:

  • • Provide medical care and first aid to campers and staff.
  • • Manage camper health records and medications.
  • • Conduct health screenings and monitor camper well-being.
  • • Respond to medical emergencies and coordinate with local healthcare providers.
  • • Educate campers and staff on health and safety practices.
  • • Maintain a clean and organized infirmary.

Qualifications:

  • • Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or certified paramedic with a valid license in Ontario.
  • • Certification in Standard or Advanced First Aid with CPR-C.
  • • Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
  • • Certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
  • • Experience in pediatric or camp nursing is preferred.
  • • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • • Ability to handle medical emergencies calmly and effectively.
  • • Must be trained, registered, and certified for the position.

5. Lifeguards

Responsibilities:

  • • Ensure the safety of campers during swimming and water-based activities.

Qualifications:

  • • Certification in lifeguarding, CPR, and First Aid.
